Because of my competition last week, this is my first heavy events day in this program. I wanted to see how my yoke was moving. It’s been a long time since I’ve had more than 350 on my back. I’m definitely rusty, but I made it up to 515. It was a fairly slow 515, especially the first pass, but I tend to come back quickly on yoke. I was pleased.
I substituted sandbag instead of farmer walk since I just had a competition with farmers and they have been bothering my hip a bit. I did two runs with the 175# and felt solid. Not great, but solid. The pick could have been better on the second run, but it wasn’t too bad.
I did not do so great on the stone. The highlight was the 114# to 63”. But, when I got to the heavy work, I was crap. The first round I struggled with the pick on the 175, and only managed one rep. The second set, I recovered a bit and got 3. I definitely need more work on stones.
We finished out the day with a heavyish prowler at 315. Three rounds and I was toast. Yoke tends to take a lot out of me, especially if it’s been a while.
I definitely have a lot to work on, but I’m feeling solid.
