Monday, 5/8 11 Weeks Out

Squat – 8 x 3 with 30s rest, 150, 150, 150, 150, 150, 150, 150, 150

Log Press Away – 2 x 3-4, 145 x4, 145 x4

Walking Lunges – 3 x 15ea, Hammer, Hammer, Hammer

Calf Raises – 3 x 25, 60, 60, 60

I came in feeling refreshed today.  I have been eating and drinking all the things, and while my weight reflects that, I have to say I’ve been enjoying it.  But, the break is over.  It’s time to grind.

I am 11 weeks out from my next competition and 26 weeks out from StrongCorp nationals. I still need to qualify, but that’s where I’m aiming.

The speed squats felt solid, much better than the first week.  I misread the program, and did 3 reps per set instead of 2. I’m really ok with that.  I’ll probably up the reps before I up the weight on this speed day.

I jumped the log by 10# this cycle.  I’ve been pressing well, and I know I was conservative here setting up the program initially.  I was very pleased to get 4 reps each set.  This is only 5# under the comp weight in July, so I’m feeling good about it.

Walking lunges are getting too easy here and I’ll increase those next time. I super set the lunges and calf raises. My calves are a bit sore form the truck pull, but I managed to get the raises done.

Hit the foam roller a bit and used trigger point ball after I finished. A solid day.  Feeling hungry for the weights.
